The methotrexate worked – I miscarried 36 hours after receiving the injection. The miscarriage was a bit more intense than I was expecting. I guess I thought since there was never a fetus that the miscarriage would be no big deal. But apparently even just having the embryo implant and the gestational sac begin to develop causes significant growth within the uterus. Fortunately, the miscarriage only lasted a couple of days and my beta level quickly went back to zero
I am back to normal now and feeling great. I am currently not on any medications and I’ve lost the few pounds that I’d gained (due to the meds, as well as the fact that my body begins showing literally the moment I get pregnant 😉).
We are planning for another single frozen embryo transfer in late April. We are all very excited and hopeful for our next transfer!
